WELCOME !

You entered the halls of Sword Chant, a forum where can be found a nice community sharing one same passion : Music!

Sword Chant is a forum about the past times and present ; a forum about Viking/Pagan Folk Metal, Celtic, Medieval and Pagan Folk.

Pagan/Folk Metal is an eclectic genre mixing metal (black, death, power...) and folk (traditional, celtic, medieval). That's why you could see another forums category for the other musical genres.

Instruments used are the common guitar, bass, drums but also violin, hurdy gurdy, bagpipes, shawm, djembe, whistle, accordion... Synthe aren't denied. Lyrics are mostly about celtic and norse mythologies, paganism, nature, the past times and it wars left behind. Fantasy lyrics can also be found.

We have two forums for their translations : One for the translations to English and the other one to French. Our ambition is to give people the possibility to understand lyrics written in foreign languages but original lyrics can be found as well.

You could find the official Fejd & Månegarm forums although +100 artists are already registered in Sword Chant.
A forum for the musicians search has been created to help bands and musicians.

Analysis and reviews for folk metal cd's are also in this site.

Another forum's given to the past times : Medieval culture, mythology, history and events.

Of course, we know to enjoy too!
We do games and having alot of fun in all!

Have a good time!
