Betray the Oracle is a South Australian band made back in late 2008.
BtO is a funeral doom metal band with a variety of influences from death doom/dsbm and other melancholic influences.
BtO was formed when I found a love for bands such as Mournful Congregation, Shape of Despair, Monarch!, and Stone Wings and decided to try my own hand at writing doom metal.
Betray the Oracle currently has a demo titled "...Fury." which was one of my earlier attempts at doom metal composition. It contains an early and instrumental version of the song "the summer storms of January" an original called "Fury" and a really early version of the song called "the barren tree on the rocky hill." So early even that it was just the original idea that I recorded one day so I could remember it. I never did anything more with that specific recording and completely revisited the entire song a year later and made it far better.
The 2010 demo can be downloaded at triplejunearthed.com on Betray the Oracle's profile page.
Currently I am working on an EP/Split between Betray the Oracle and a one man Grindcore project called Flesh Incineration. The EP/Split is titled "The Funeral Grind" and will contain five songs by Flesh Incineration followed up by four songs by BtO.
The Funeral Grind will be specifically original for Betray the Oracle because for the only time ever it will contain mixing and session ambience in BtO's songs by David Coats from Within The Torn Apart, Sombre Gravity and The Mourning Dimension.
Otherwise all music is done by myself, Levi Wwilliam Siegmann. That is, drum programming, bass guitar, electric guitar, acoustic guitar, keyboard and piano.
