Elvenking is an italian power/folk metal band born in 1997. the two guitarists Aydan and Jarpen are at the origin of the Elvenking's Birth. The line-up changed alot during the first year until Damnagoras (vocals) and Zender (drums) come in the band. and more later was the turn of the bassist player Gorlan to join Elvenking.

Damnagoras had to leave the band for short times (2002 - 2004) 'cuz of Health problems. he has been replaced by Kleid.

Elvenking's Lyrics are about Fantasy, Folklore (Early), Death, Hate (Later).

Members are: Damna (vocals), Aydan (guitar), Rafahel (guitar), Jakob (bass), Lethien (violin), Zender (drums)

Past members:
Jarpen left the band in february 2005.
Gorlan left the band in may 2012.

Discography:

To Oak Woods Bestowed Demo, 2000
Heathenreel Full-length, 2001
Wyrd Full-length, 2004
The Winter Wake Full-length, 2006
The Scythe Full-length, 2007
From Blood to Stone Single, 2008
Two Tragedy Poets, 2008
Red silent tides, Full-length, 2010

I would highly reccomand the CD Heathenreel which is a masterpiece to the one discovering them. but the scythe is real opposite...

I can't stand them :/
I think the vocals are annoying after a short time and the music itself has nothing special...
But well, I only listened to The Winter Wake, if Heathenreel is better, maybe I'll give them another try.

There is a sample of the upcoming acoustic album!
Doesn't sound that much acoustic from some of the songs in the sample, but still sounds fairly nice!

The new album ( ore more their experiment ;) ) is pretty great. I love the two acoustic versions of 'Wanderer' and 'The Winter Wake'.

And the rest is amazing, too. I like it very much^^

To be honest, I adored Elvenking until their third album came out. I do not know what happened with Damnagoras, but he destroyed the millieu that the band established earlier. I own the first two CDs, yes, even with Kleid at the microphone.

Elvenking was indeed an amazing band. They had a sound that was totally unique, fun, energetic. It is a shame that they changed styles for whatever purpose. If only they would re-release Heathenreel remastered with bonus material! How great would that be?
