2. Wurzelbert (Wurzelbert) (a name, could be translated as "root-guy")

In a cave deep below the mountain
on sparkling fire, far away from daylight
lives a man, old and crinkly
with his fiddle, the crooked guy

When the moonlight comes out
he takes his fiddle, carefully tuned
wents out in the night woods
and plays a song for the animals

Carefully the birds listen to the sound
when a strage feeling comes up their heads
they wonder for a short while
and fall dead from the branches

The bears sit peacefully in the leaves
the man arrives and plays his fiddle loud
with howling cries they flee into the forest
but too late and no one escaped

Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, play your fiddle!
Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, play your fiddle!
Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, play your fiddle!
Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, play your fiddle!

Dark the water, the man arrives
the sound reaches the whole plane
and also deep to the ground
the water is full of dead carps

Lonely, beaten, the man goes home
How he hates and loves his wooden fiddle ...

Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, play your fiddle!
Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, play your fiddle!
Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, play your fiddle!
Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, Wurzelbert, play your fiddle!

Miles of walking though thick copse
a horde of long hairs, dancing around the fire
he puts his fiddle up to his chin, ready to play
the people wait for a while, listen carefully

After hours of playing, thunderous applause
the mood is boiling and the women strip
the people hail the old root-guy
who can make women much more satisfied with his roots

Wurzelbert! Wurzelbert! Wurzelbert!
Play your fiddle!

3. Blut im Auge (Blood in the eye)

What I saw on my journey
seems to be too true to tell about
therefore I'll try my way
to take you there with me

When I once on dark paths
far from here in northern land
saw, what stole my breath,
what I never knew before

Blood in the eye
on wounded knees
I fell down
I saw her

So I decided to stay there
what I saw kept my mind
to discover her secret
the night was lost for me

Day by day in grey rain
I searched the view again
was addicted to this magic
I've seen before

Blood in the eye
on wounded knees
I fell down
I saw her

Left behind the gates of town
climbed up into icy height
stoms and thunderlashes
tried to put me down
saw into waterfalls
behind bushes, birches
restless views, grey waves
where may she be?

Sleepless, restless I seach ...
Soundless, noise, she doesn't hear me ...

Over rocks, mountains, moorland,
bushes, thornes, darkness,
I search for her by night,
search the glowing heavenlight ...

4. Unbesiegt (Unconquered)

Black as the night that surrounds me
crashing howling against the cliffs
See how I resist the storm
Be witness of my strength

Where others kneel
earn dust and disdain
I stand, be my witness,
bloody but unbowed!

Never they'll break me
Never they'll bribe my soul
Never I'll kneel down
Never I'll show humbleness
Never they'll catch me
Never they'll conquer my fortress
See I stand, be my witness,
bloody but unbowed!

Many battles, much suffer
Fought for every breath
Hard battle around my fortress,
The circles of my power!

Lonely the black pinnacles
Stand against confuse times
As I do, be my witness,
bloody but unbowed!

Never they'll break me
Never they'll bribe my soul
Never I'll kneel down
Never I'll show humbleness
Never they'll catch me
Never they'll conquer my fortress
See I stand, be my witness,
bloody but unbowed!

I am unconquered!
I am unconquered!

I fear neither glowing iron,
nor pain!
I am my own rescue,
will ever be (that).
And if I lay bleeding in front of your feet,
you know exactly: I keep unconquered!

Everything I fought for ...
My banners high as sky ...
Even if all walls shake
I'll keep my throne,
yes, forever!

Many I saw fall,
too many to understand
But I have no regrets on this path.
Shall they look down on me,
I do not care, I keep staying.
So do you, my friend, I am your witness, be bloody but unbowed!

5. Verrat (Betrayal)

With false language
you seed dissension in the people arround you
knowing about the falseness
your words cause

Put the wedge of lies
deep and deeper into the hearts of those
who struggle through the night
aproximate the pain of morning

Nothing but dead echo in stone
shall be left of you
the frost in my soul:
the earnings of your seed
nothing but dead echo in stone
shall be left of you
when I judge you
for your last journey

Into fire I will lead you
in flames I will see you
to ashes I will burn you
in dust I will see you!

Betrayal! Betrayal! Betrayal!
Betrayal! Betrayal! Betrayal!

When the balks rot
and your building crashes down on you
and stone by stone
turns slowly against you

The spirit of the grey-ones
who are lolling in ropy combs
will rise united
forge you on your rocks
in fire!

Into fire I will lead you
in flames I will see you
to ashes I will burn you
in dust I will see you!

... when all the lies crash down
I will come to you with flaming lust
when all the lies crash down

What once has been will never be again
judged in fire, in light flames
I will see you, I'll stay before you
when all the lies crash down

Into fire I will lead you
in flames I will see you
to ashes I will burn you
in dust I will see you!

... when all the lies crash down
I will come to you with flaming lust
when all the lies crash down

6. Snüffel (snuff-tobacco)

Long times ago
it was up to divide vice
everybody got his herb
inspireing soul and mind

Dry down in the south
elswhere in wooden pipes
soft and juicy up in the north
but what has it become here?

Everything was put into bags
quickly spread without delay
through the world the message ran
everybody came out for the herb

On the way through the sky
it fell from the car into the world
directly in the millstones
destiny rolls on..

Don't want to snuse, don't want to smoke
don't want to use shit!
All I want is snuff!

If you want to try this too
be carefull not to smear it into your face
and crying is not allowed ... on sniffing!

"Hey! What's that?
I get angry,
who throws his stuff into my mill?
That is no grain,
Somebody lost that,
anyway, let's grind it and we will see!"

Everything was grinded
The servant had to do the whole work
fills every bag
is looking forward to the pub today

But what comes out of the mill-stones?
Seems brown and tasty
He hurrys to fill his pockets,
hurrys to leave the mill ...

Down in the town big turbulence
Everybody wants to put
that shit in his nose
So the servant could let everybody take part in this pleasure

And so a custom was born
'cause a herb got lost
which brought us free noses
and made us to a nation of sniffers

Don't want to snuse, don't want to smoke
don't want to use shit!
All I want is snuff!

7. Heimwärts (Homewards)

All battles are done, all victorys gained
All fires are extinct, all victory-songs fade away
And so we start our last great journey
And if you want to stop us be warned:

Homeland, homewards,
hold out, we come home
See our flags far from the hills
The paths full of stones
homeland so far
hold out, we come home
be prepeared!

Where a will is, there'd be a way but where we travel there is no base
Where deep canyons rise, the storm never sleeps
Let's walk on our long, hard march
Come on, move your ass!

Homeland, homewards,
hold out, we come home
See our flags far from the hills
The paths full of stones
homeland so far
hold out, we come home
be prepeared!

When the valleys get green, when the forrests sound
When our steps get easy, when the men start singing
We finally reach our gates, at least it breaks out:
Homeland! We are at home!

Homeland, homewards,
hold out, we come home
See our flags far from the hills
The paths full of stones
homeland so far
hold out, we come home
be prepeared!

Homeland, homewards,
finally we're at home
Get out the barrels of wine, mead, booze and beer!
Light the fires and let's be happy
And keep in mind: now we are at home!

9. Die Weide und der Fluß (The willow and the river)

Green and silent lays the moorland
bank slope, old willow
bowing down now year by year
to silent waters, cold an clear

Where deep in the ground
the sparkling melancholy of great eyes
stares up year by year
onto long, grey willo-whair

Willow, old willow!

Autumn falls onto green moorland
clammy gusts, leaves dance
the light of the days has become short
tells till today the tale of the willow

but both were determined
silent views, willow of sorrow
unbearable burden
noone'd dear to break

Willow, sorrow-willow!

Can you hear the noise from the moreland?
the breaking, the tearing, the burning of branches
the axes hack, wood crashes
thunders growl their deepest growl!

The water seethes, punished waves,
helpless she stares, sees up to the murder
beaten by sorrow the sparkles fade
carried by wagons the willow fades

It was winter after many years
a boat came on the water
peacefull drove the wooden boat
on the bank slope

Darkness rised from the ground
keeping in mind the grey wood
she broke the keel, the bow sank
the water shaked the reed

And so she gorged and so she forced and so she pulled them down
And so she gorged and so she forced all into their cold graves

10. Des Sängers Fluch (The bard's curse)

Dark times, the land enslaved
people banned to serve
no bird, no laughter in the fields
the days so dark, the nights so cold

And so the years went by
went down - witout sense
heavy pages in the book of history
tell 'till today of the bard's curse

"Show me to play, teach me your art"
once spoke a boy deep from the heart
the old one with a harp, the boy with his voice
played the songs with rich sound

And so the songs went by
a feeling - so unknown
but heavy pages in the book of history
tell 'till today of the bard's curse

And then it was up to play in front of a frozen throne
death was punishment, live was fee
"Play! you both, but play good,
otherwise I make my own pleasure and spill your blood."

He played the haph as good as never before
voices gathered to a rich song
it sounded their both singing
and every mind was cought

And then they played in front of a frozen throne
death would be punishment, live would be fee
but heavy are pages in the book of history
and heavyly they bear the bard's curse

Full of wrath the steel comes down
kills the boy in front of the throne with deep pain
the old one carrys the boy out of the hall
but stays still, turns and shouts:

"Couse you, murder, curse of all bards"
Fall to the ground, drown in your blood!
You name shall be forgotten, you body shall burn to dust,
broken your halls, overrun your land!"

The old man has shouted, everybody had listen
the walls went down, the halls are destroyed
the old name of the throne, no book knows it today
only one thing fills heavy pages: the bard's curse!

11. Ruf in den Wind (Call into the wind)

I am the wind
climbing the mountains
though them in the height
guide the view

I am the wind
sounding in the top of the trees
whose noisy being
guides the leaves

I am the wind
that invented the waves
let oceans rise
against the cliffs

I am the wind
that defeats the borders
let countrys be without borders

I am the breath
coming through your home
when the lights go out
the candles extinct.

I am the breeze
driving through the fields
when the fog clears
the clouds gather

I am the gust
filling the canvas
let the timber bow
let 'em fight the waves

I am the strom
lost my mind
in furious rage

Say where I am
say what I saw
say me the sense
say what I did

When your names sound
you're hearing me
when your flags steam
your see me

And if you want to curse me
pay attention
it may get youself
the power of your spell

See what I saw
See what I have been
Feel what I am
Feel what I think of
Hear what I say
Hear what I advise
See what I am
See into the wind

Be what I am:
Be like the wind!

12. Dämmerung (Dawn)

See! Night falls!
The evening comes up
Loose, it is okay
I'll stay here if you're looking after me.

It's quiet here, I wait with you
for your last journey.
Thick fog, black waters,
fog covers your path

No word is worth hearing now
at this place
No noise to listen,
it feels like deathlike silence

Your deathlike silence ...

Cold the hand which found me once
powerless it lays down
The view empty, the lids heavy,
you're so close, so close

See over there in the twilight
what comes from over there?
Soon you'll drive in that boat
And I will finally rest ...

I will finally rest then ...

See! Night falls!
The evening comes up
Loose, it is okay
I'll stay here if you're looking after me.

See! Night has arrived!
The winter awoke
Loose, it is okay
I'll stay here if you're looking after me.
