6. Verdoemenis | Damnation

Cracking and crushing I wage battle
For the fatherland
The breaking of dawn
Calls for blood
By will and power, break the bond!

My end is yet nigh
Here I will die
I fight against time
My destiny has come

The sun blinds my eyes
By his shield
flashing the sword swings
Right at my heart!
Fortuna beckons me near her

The ways of fate are unfathomable
Fatum’s marionette!

The path of life
Is filled with temptation and sin
Orders, prohibitions, autocracy
Do not yield or you will fall!

The truth be damned
Until eternity!

You go and stand wherever you want,
Free will is an illusion.
We are all connected,
Damned, even before and after death!

The northwind brings me back to life.
The threnody of distorted metal
Resides in the cavities of my spirit.
Rise up with the first ray of sunlight.

The scent of flowers and the feestschalmei | Note: a traditional Flemish instrument
Sinks in (and) then I realise
The ways of life, as shards of a window
Will re-unite, even before I'll die.

For my fatherland
I want to die

8. Gerstenat (The Last Sip)

Chased away by greed
And villages sieged
We sit here
In this inn
Where no one would've expected us
By the glow of fire and ale

It will be okay, that's what you said
But people were hung
Houses burned
A place of desire
Overpowered by death

Hear the luit, the lier
The schalmei | Note: All traditional Flemish instruments
Come dance along, dance with me
Because I stay here
With my ale
Yes, I stay here
My best friend

We put all our worries aside
And your voice resound
Take my hand
Just the two of us
By the glow of fire and ale

Now the laughter is gone
And the silence slowly appears
The dawning of days
Drunk as we are
Far away from all that's bad
