L'Ordre du Temple is an epic medieval metal band from Venice, Italy.
It is a solo project started in 2003 by a certain David(e).
His music is a mixture of different epic black metal stiles, with a medieval and ambient touch.
All of the songs are inspired by the history of the Knights Templar, and their secrets.
So far they have released one split album with Ringwraith and Teuta, and a full album last year.

Some of the slow haunting epic atmospheres remind me of Summoning, even though their styles are ultimately different.
Give them a listen whenever you have some time, perhaps you'll like it...

I read a review once about the album and it stated, it'd sound like a complete Summoning rip off. And yeah, it sounds like that... But not bad. Vocals remind me a bit of Gernotshagen. At least in some moments.

This is really great!! I guess I'll have to check Summoning out as well!
