| Coppelius is a Band from Berlin, Germany, playing metal without e-guitars and bass but with cello, contrabass, clarinet and drums. This might sound a bit strange the first time, but the cello is distorted and sounds quite similar to an e-guitar. According to the band's website their first gig was in 1803 while at the celebration for the identification of morphine in Paderborn. Of course this isn't the truth, but you won't really find reliable informations. Their on-stage presence is based on the 19th century. So they are dressed in frock coats, tailcoats and top hats. Coppelius have released two albums and four singles so far, their latest, "Tumult!", in 2009. | Their Phantom Of The Opera cover is pretty good !!
interesting band indeed. sounding sometimes rock, soemtimes metal, with a chamber music very present everytime.
